Why aggressively human?

In a world focused on more: more content, more followers, more marketing, more scale, more noise… we’re facing less trust, less contact, less reach.

We’re drowning in AI-generated slop, being pitch-slapped by “personalized” email funnels that couldn’t be farther from authentic, and struggling to be seen by a pay-to-play algorithm.

It’s never been easier to create and connect more cheaply and at more scale, with less trust and more skepticism.

But for experts and service-based businesses? We’re seeing the pendulum swing back.

The answer isn’t to play by these trends. It’s to be aggressively human.

Meet your hosts, Meg Casebolt and Jessica Lackey.

We’re two experts running our own businesses and grappling with these issues every day. We know that embracing connection can inform our marketing and sales, our business design, our team communication, and how we run our businesses.

But also: we can’t put our head in the sand about this technology and the implications of how we use it - without being used.

So on this podcast, we’re investigating how to run and market your business in the age of AI, automations, and algorithms with an aggressively human approach.

But what the heck does it mean to be ‘aggressively human’?

Being aggressively human isn’t just a slogan on a coffee mug, or a set of pastel Instagram posts. It’s making conscious decisions that actually help you build your business, leave your legacy, serve your audience.

What could it look like to turn these values into concrete ways you can take action?

And so we’re (re)defining what it means to be aggressively human. We’ll examine the human side and we’ll examine the AI and algorithm side so you can make informed choices for your business.

In every episode we are going to examine one trend, one tactic, one question, one technology, OR one thing in the zeitgeist … and we’re going to press it through this lens.

So what does that look like?

  • We’ll be talking to business owners who are embracing an aggressively human approach in an area of their business and why they made that decision.

  • We’ll talk about trends in the space, especially as AI creeps into every subscription we own, and find ways to personalize beyond the {FIRSTNAME}

  • We’ll pull back the curtain on our businesses and how this approach informs experiments we’re running.

  • And we’ll also talk about if and how we can use these tools to actually be more human, without being used by them.
